Greetings!
I am very excited about serving as your Lt. Governor for the coming year, and very much enjoyed participating in all the Kiwanis Club installations for the AYN Division. A heart-felt thanks to all of you who accept a leadership roles in your clubs - past, present, and future - whether as an Officer, Director, committee chair, or project leader.
I hope to put to good use the experience I have gained as the President of the Chena Kiwanis Club for the last two years. I really came to understand the importance, and challenge, of membership growth, member engagement, effective communication, succession planning, among other things.
Things don't just happen, and new members don't just show up. Both take planning and work. I remain committed to the road ahead because I believe deeply and passionately in Kiwanis and its mission. Kiwanis brings out the very best in all of us. Together we accomplish so much good, and in our Service Leadership Programs, we mentor young people to do the same.
My theme is "Barnstormer," and I have recruited a new team to help me: Red the Rooster, wtih Club Leadership and Education; Olivia the Pig, with Fundraising; Buck the Beaver, with Membership & Growth; Billy the Goat, with Marketing and Public Relations; and Clara the Cow, with Service. Please contact us if you are interested in specific information from each focus area.
My 2011 - 12 goals as AYN Lt. Governor are:
1. Strengthen and grow existing clubs.
2. AYN Division Council Meetings at least quarterly.
3. Activate the past Lt. Governor's Association.
4. Increase Kiwanis Family joint-activity opportunties, including Kiwanis One Day.
5. Increase Kiwanis Education efforts in ways that are meaningful to individual clubs.
I look forward to working with all of you!
With great respect,
Michelle Bandy Gibson
2011 - 2012 AYN Lt. Governor
